Dispose of your obsolete electronics at Volvo showrooms

KUALA LUMPUR: Time to collect all the damaged and waste electronic devices in your home and bring it to your nearest Volvo showroom. It can be anything from an old smartphone to a laptop, or even a PlayStation, just grab them all. We are sure, one of these things must be lying in a dark, dusty corner of our home, so it's time to clean up.

Under its latest sustainability move, the Volvo Green Planet campaign, the automaker aims to reduce its carbon footprint. For this campaign, Volvo has teamed with E-waste Recycling Through Heros (ERTH) and equipped all its dealerships with E-waste Green Box.

Volvo E-waste Green Box details

"At Volvo, we walk the talk. Instead of only talking about sustainability, we drive it by embracing and integrating the practice into our business and day-to-day life," said Akhtar Sulaiman, Marketing & PR Director of VCM.

ERTH is registered with the Malaysian Department of Environment. It collects, purchases, and transports e-waste to local-government licensed recycling facilities. The recycling process followed is in line with Basel Convention guidelines.

These boxes are a window to responsibly dispose and recycle your obsolete electronics. Can anyone go and dispose of his/her outdated electronics at Volvo Car Malaysia? Well, yes, VCM doors are open for everyone, be it a prospective customer or not. Volvo just wants everyone to take up this opportunity and clear their homes of electronic waste. In this way, they can free our landfills from these potentially hazardous materials.

The Volvo E-waste Green Box will be placed in an area easily visible and accessible to all, and not just prospective buyers. Anything that runs on batteries or electricity, and can get fit inside the box is welcomed. In case you have a bulkier electronic, E-waste Recycling Through Heros is providing free pickup service.
