
KUALA LUMPUR: The sole distributor of Mazda cars in Malaysia, Bermaz Motor has opened ordering books for the fully-electric MX-30. Deliveries will most probably begin in the last quarter of 2022.
The Mazda EV was first unveiled in 2019 at the Tokyo Motor Show and for long has been one of the most awaited cars in the Malaysian market. Here, it will be offered in two variant options Mid and High with the price starting from RM 198,780. Each purchase will be accompanied by a 5-year/100,000 km manufacture warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km EV battery warranty.
Power configuration
Powering the new MX-30 is a 35.5 kWh battery that powers the e-motor that drives the four wheels. This duo generates a maximum power of 143 hp along with a peak torque of 271 Nm. The expected electric range stands at 199 km.
Charging details
With a 6.6 kW Type 2 AC charger, the MX-30 gets fully charged in just 5 hours, while the 40 kW DC charger does 80 percent of the job in only 36 minutes.
