2025 Mazda BT-50 facelift launched in Malaysia; here’s all you need to know

KUALA LUMPUR: Alongside the 2025 Mazda 3 1.5L High Plus, Bermaz Motor has also launched the all-new Mazda BT-50 facelift in Malaysia. The upgraded Mazda pickup truck boasts sharper styling, more tech and features, while retaining the same engine and gearbox.

2025 Mazda BT-50: Price

The new Mazda BT-50 is offered in a single fully imported variant from Thailand, i.e., 3.0 6AT High Plus, priced at RM 140,418 (on the road, without insurance). The price includes a five-year or 100,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty against manufacturing defects.

The new BT-50 has a tougher and more premium appearance, making it suitable for both city use and off-road adventures. Its rugged yet refined profile features a new signature wing grille and sleeker LED headlamps, lending the vehicle a sharper, more commanding look. The restyled bumper adds to the width and presence, while smooth character lines and muscular arches accentuate the sophistication and off-road stance.

The rear profile features a ridged lower section, LED tail lights with a new L-shape signature, and a larger Mazda logo. The upgraded version runs on a new set of 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

2025 Mazda BT-50: Engine and transmission

Under the hood lies the same tried and tested 3.0-litre inline-four turbodiesel engine as earlier, which delivers a maximum power of 188 hp at 3,600 rpm and a peak torque of 450 Nm from 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission paired with a four-wheel-drive system, enabling the pickup to hit a top speed of 180 kmph.

The BT-50 delivers a confident and refined driving experience thanks to front double wishbone and rear leaf-spring suspension tuned for stability and comfort. The chassis and steering calibration provide precise, natural control, giving the driver confidence in every situation. 

Offering stability and grip across all surfaces is a Rough Terrain mode, hill descent control, and four-wheel-drive locking.

Guided by Mazda’s Jinba Ittai philosophy, the interior exudes luxury with soft-touch materials, refined detailing, and a whole bunch of hi-tech features. The dashboard layout remains largely the same with upright centre-screen and similar AC controls; however, there is a new trim piece ahead of the front passenger.

The vehicle now features a larger 7-inch instrument cluster and an updated 9.0-inch infotainment unit, which supports Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and an eight-speaker audio system. Additionally, the seats have been redesigned for better support, and improved insulation helps reduce noise for a calmer, more refined driving experience.
