Genesis GV80 Coupe debuts in South Korea ahead of launch

KUALA LUMPUR: The road-ready version of the Genesis GV80 Coupe concept, introduced ..back in April, has made its official debut in South Korea where it is slated to hit the roads next month. The latest Genesis model is a stylish coupe version of the large GV80 SUV, which has been available since 2020.

Let’s know the key highlights of the all-new Genesis GV80 Coupe 

• The luxury coupe measures 4965 mm in length, 1975 mm in width, and 1710 mm in height. The generous wheelbase of the car is measured at 2955 mm

• In terms of design, the coupe features a new two-line Crest front grille, slim headlamps crafted with MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology, a distinctive front bumper with larger air intakes as compared to the SUV version
• The coupe further sets itself apart with a sloping, coupe-inspired roofline, an integrated duckbill spoiler, a roof spoiler, and a unique 22-inch wheel design

• The engine lineup includes two options - a 2.5-litre gasoline inline-four engine making 300 hp of maximum power and 422 Nm of peak torque and a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 that is capable of generating 375 hp and 530 Nm
• The power is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission paired with a standard all-wheel drive layout 
• Inside, the car sports a single, widescreen 27-inch OLED display powered by Hyundai group's latest infotainment software, a flat-bottomed steering wheel with paddle shifters, and Nappa leather-wrapped front sports seats

• Parts of the safety package are ten airbags and several advanced driver assistance systems like Lane Following Assist 2, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, Highway Driving Assist 2, Smart Cruise Control 2, Front/Side/Rear Parking Distance Warning, and Front/Side/Rear Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist 
• The all-new Genesis GV80 Coupe is available in a range of thirteen exterior shades, including the exclusive Bering Blue

Alongside introducing the GV80 coupe version, Genesis also upgraded its SUV counterpart with a host of new features. Upon showcasing the new models, Chief Brand Officer of Genesis, Graeme Russell said, "Today, we mark an important milestone in our journey to success. The Genesis GV80 Coupe will go on sale on October 11, 2023, in South Korea.
