Goodyear debuts Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 and SUV variant at Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: Goodyear Malaysia has officially rolled out the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 and its SUV variant at the Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2025 (TASKL), held from 8 to 10 August at MITEC.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is special about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SUV tyre?

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SUV offers advanced wet and dry braking performance, improved handling, quiet ride technology, and EV compatibility.
  • Where can I buy the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SUV in Malaysia?

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SUV is available now at authorised Goodyear dealers nationwide, with August 2025 promos offering up to RM200 Touch ‘n Go credit.
  • The launch coincides with the 45th anniversary of the Eagle F1 brand, a name that has been part of motorsport history since 1980, supplying tyres for championship-winning cars under extreme race conditions.

For 2025, Goodyear served as the official tyre partner for TASKL, which is licensed and modelled after the renowned Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan. The Malaysian edition drew over 90,000 visitors in 2024, with this year’s event again promising a showcase of performance and automotive culture.

    High-Performance tech, everyday usability

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 SUV is designed to deliver strong handling, superior wet and dry braking, and comfort for daily driving — whether on SUVs or passenger cars. It is also EV-ready if matched with vehicle manufacturer specifications, reflecting Goodyear’s push to support the region’s growing electrification trend.

Goodyear says the tyre outperforms rivals in wet lap times, with testing (Autobild 2024) showing a faster wet circle lap of 20.58 seconds, compared to 20.81s for Brand A, 20.92s for Brand B, and 21.23s for Brand C. It also demonstrated up to 2.1 metres shorter braking distance than competing brands.

    Award-Winning Pedigree

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric range has a proven track record, with the latest generation securing eight test wins, 15 podium positions, and accolades from publications such as AutoBild, Sport Auto, and Auto Motor Sport between 2022 and 2024.

    Technology Highlights

    • Wet Braking Pro Technology – New tread compound resin increases micro-contact for better wet grip and handling.

    • Dry Contact Plus Technology – Optimised cavity shape enhances contact patch for improved dry performance.

    • Quiet Performance Technology – Noise-cancelling tread patterns, thinner sipes on central ribs, and radial chamfered grooves reduce road noise.

    • Duraguard Technology – Stronger carcass construction with two plies of high-density cords and dual high-tensile steel belts.
