Hyundai Stargazer MPV coming to Malaysia, here’s what to expect?

Hyundai Motor Malaysia recently unveiled its ambitious plans for 2026, aimed at capturing a bigger market share. The company announced the return of the N performance sub-brand in the second quarter and the launch of a new B-segment MPV in the fourth quarter.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When will the Hyundai Stargazer launch in Malaysia?

The Hyundai Stargazer is earmarked to launch in Malaysia in Q4 2026.
  • What are the key highlights of the Hyundai Stargazer?

The Hyundai Stargazer is a great family car, featuring a bold and futuristic design, a well-equipped cabin and a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine.
  • While it remains tight-lipped on revealing the MPV’s identity, it’s not hard to guess that it is none other than the Stargazer, which is the only B-segment MPV the brand has in its global lineup.

Globally introduced at Gaikindo Indonesia Auto Show in August 2022, the Hyundai Stargazer is a compact MPV sold in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei and the Middle East. The MPV received a facelift in Indonesia last year, adopting the ‘Cartenz’ suffix (taken from the country’s highest peak), representing the brand’s vision to achieve higher standards in innovation and comfort. Hyundai also offers the Stargazer X in Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines markets.

As the MPV is now en route to Malaysia, let’s take a closer look at its design and features.

    Hyundai Stargazer: What to expect?

    Dimensions and capacity

The Hyundai Stargazer measures 4,575 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, 1,690 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,780 mm. These dimensions indicate a generously spacious cabin, promising comfort for all occupants on board. The boot space is measured at 185 litres, which can be expanded up to 585 litres with the third row seats.

    Exterior design

The Stargazer boasts a futuristic exterior design with a refined, aerodynamic silhouette, suited for modern families. It features a large front grille featuring bold rectangular elements, a sculpted bumper with faux side air intakes and a long bonnet. The slim headlights are combined with daytime running lights, forming an ‘H’ shape. At the rear, we can find striking tail lights incorporating an ‘H’-shaped lighting design.

The rugged-looking Stargazer X confirms its unique identity with a 3D stacked front grille, distinctive bumper with character lines, all-around body cladding, and a black roof with rails.

Designed to support the modern fast-paced lifestyle, the Hyundai Stargazer comes in two seating capacities in different markets - 6 seater (with captain seat in the second row) and 7 seater.

The cabin exudes a minimalist vibe with a dual-layer dashboard layout, decent fit and finish, and more than 30 storage areas, ergonomically designed and located on each side of the vehicle, providing practicality in storing more items on the go.
