Jaguar E-Pace is now on sale in Malaysia; price starts at RM 403,216

KUALA LUMPUR: Finally, Jaguar’s first compact SUV E-Pace has touched the Malaysian shores after three years of global debut. First previewed locally at the Premium Auto Car Expo 2018, the model was initially due for a Q1/Q2 launch in 2019, but as we can see, it could not happen.

The luxury crossover SUV is now available in the county with a starting price tag of RM 403,216.67 (excluding road tax and insurance and only applicable to Peninsular Malaysia). It is inclusive of a 50% sales tax exemption provided under the economic stimulus plan, Penjana.

Up against familiar names like Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3, and BMW X1, the all-new E- Pace features a sporty exterior and an interior design that raises the bars for compact SUVs with its rich, stylish visual effects.

On the exterior, the E-Pace successfully translates the sleek lines and sporty demeanour of the F-Type coupe into a compact SUV. The limited choice of 2 exterior colours includes Yulong White and Firenze Red. Inside, the designers used soft and high-quality materials throughout the cabin that offer a handshake to the customers, whereas its charming British detailings leave a lasting impression on them.

E-Pace also incorporates Jaguar’s Smart Settings - a self-learning technology that studies the driver’s habits and anticipates their needs and makes driving more pleasurable and convenient. It recognises the driver via smartphone or key fob and then adjusts the seat, climate, and infotainment system based on his/her preference. Over time, the technology picks up more choices of the driver like time, location, weather, and behaviour patterns.

On the mechanical front, the Jaguar E-Pace is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged Ingenium petrol engine. The SUV completes the 0-100 kmph sprint in 8.2 seconds, and like its siblings, it also features the same advanced technologies found across the rest of the Ingenium engine family. It includes a twin-scroll turbocharger, continuously variable valve lift, and variable cam timing that enhance its power, efficiency, and drivability. It also equips particulate filters for a cleaner drive.

  • Cruise control and speed limiter

  • Driver condition monitor
  • Front and rear parking aids
  • 360° surround camera
  • Two ISOFIX points

The all-new E-Pace comes with a ‘Jaguar Care’ programme including a five-year warranty, five-year free service package, and three years of roadside assistance. Interested customers can now book a test drive on the Jaguar’s official website.
