Kl City Grand Prix – Afiq Yazid proves to be the fastest Malaysian in Friday Practice
Kuala Lumpur: No point for guessing when you are driving on your home territory, Afiq Yazid proved it with fastest times in two race categories practice sessions at the KL City GP on Friday. He might surely be having an idea of the potholes on wet Malaysian streets being the fastest.
The Twenty-four-year-old Malaysian Afiq Yazid, driving for the Malaysian Lamborghini Super Trofeo gave an exemplary record time to the rest of Lamborghini drivers. He showed them, the way it is done setting the quickest lap of the day in his #33 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo.
Afiq Yazid succeeded the time trail with a record time of 1:29.451, which was calculated to be 0.203 quicker than the second Lamborghini pairing of Yuan Bo and Edoardo Liberati, who recorded a time of 1:29.654. These were followed by the third fastest Japanese pair of Hideo Akagi and Kazuki Hiramie, posting a time of 1:29.704. Other competitors could only managed to be lagged behind for 3 seconds then the trio. Many also kept a hold on their accelerators as the track was still wet at many sections because of the early rain.
Again in the KL GT City Cup practice, Afiq was fastest among the Lamborghini drivers with a record time of 1:26.799, which even broke the fastest record set by Josh Hunt of Kurnia Assurance, who posted a 1:29.389 in his Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3.
