Maserati teases two new models, set to debut in August

KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier today, Maserati teased two models in a post uploaded on the automaker’s official Facebook and Twitter channels. The models in question are the Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo. These two sedans are scheduled to make a debut on August 10.

The information about the upcoming Maserati models is limited at the moment. However, we expect the two to feature a V8 mill, the same unit that’ll power the new Levante Trofeo. The three models are believed to house an all-new 4.0-litre mill and not the same-old Ferrari-sourced 3.8-litre V8 unit that powers the ongoing Levante Trofeo.

One thing that stricks us the most about the latest Maserati teaser is that it shows three cars, one of which is an SUV. Thus, hinting towards a possibility of the Levante Trofeo getting a facelift along with the new powerful engine.

The spy shots from earlier this year suggest that the new 4.-0-litre powerplant will make a maximum power of 590 PS, which is the same output the 3.8-litre V8 mill develops in the current range-topping version of Levante Trofeo. At the moment, we are not sure if 590 hp is the new base output, if so is the case, the maximum power can even go up to 600 hp for the new Trofeo variants.

As for the car’s design language, the teaser is way too dark to predict anything. However, with the possibility of such a potent power plant, we expect the exterior design to balance the deal. An appealing-aggressive outer profile, luxury-packed cabin, loaded safety kit, and a powerful engine will seal the deal for us.
