Mercedes Launches its A238 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet, price starts at RM589k

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes Benz has launched its new model, the A238 Mercedes Benz E-Class at a price of RM 588,888 on-road, inclusive of the insurance. The car has been designed to give us the al fresco driving experience. Its four-cylinder M274 2l petrol engine is capable of making 245 PS with 370 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels through the nine-speed 9G-Tronic auto transmission, thus allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 just in 6.5s with the maximum speed limit being 250 kmph.

It has a sports exhaust system fitted to it that ensures a sportier engine note, dynamic body control suspension, and adaptive damping that will be adjustable according to the needs of the driver. The car's dynamic select system and dedicated switch in the cabin proved to be helpful here.

As far as the exterior look is concerned, the car will be distinguishable from the coupe, thanks to its power-folding fabric soft-top, with the color options of dark blue, black, red and dark brown. It will also be featured with AMG line exterior along with night packages, including the diamond grille, chrome pins, and sportier bumpers. The multibeam LED headlamps and twin spoke alloy wheels also give it a classy touch.

So, far as the interiors are concerned, the powered front seats with memory functionality and the Nappa leather upholstery deserve mention. The wide-screen cockpit is same as the one found in the E-class and is accompanied by a 12.3-inches display and COMAND online infotainment system. There will be different media connectivity options along with a Burmester Sound System, wireless system charging, automatic climatic control, keyless-go, hands-free access and more.

Lastly, the driving assist systems will include the Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Parking Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Sound Review Camera. Equipped with all these features, the car is expected to keep up with the expectations of the Mercedes patrons. We will hopefully be able to put our hands on the new model by the end of this year!
