As the table indicates, the MG HS demonstrated excellent performance across several key safety areas. In the Adult Occupant Protection category, it showed outstanding strength, particularly in impact scenarios. It scored full points in side impact, oblique pole, and whiplash protection.
In the case of Child Occupant Protection, the HS did well in safeguarding critical areas like the head, chest, and abdomen. The SUV also scored good performance in Vulnerable Road User Protection thanks to advanced driver assistance gears like autonomous emergency braking.

The MG HS is expected to hit the local roads later this year or early next year. Notably, the model previewed in our marker is the facelift version of the first-gen HS that has been around since 2020. It is a C-segment SUV that will rival the likes of the Proton X70, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 in Malaysia.
The SUV is being offered in two variants here - Standard and Lux, with an estimated price starting from RM 130,000. Both versions are equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine tuned to deliver a maximum power of 162 PS at 5,600 rpm and a peak torque of 250 Nm from 1,700 to 4,400 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
