Mitsubishi new SUV pre-orders begin in Indonesia, debut set for August 10

KUALA LUMPUR: Almost a month ago, Mitsubishi teased a new compact SUV to be unveiled at the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. The Japanese automaker has now begun accepting its pre-orders in Indonesia. 

Here’s what we know so far about the upcoming Mitsubishi SUV -

• The five-seater SUV is said to be the production iteration of the XFC concept previewed last year (pictured below)

• It falls in the B-segment SUV category wherein models like the Honda HR-V, Proton X50, and Toyota Corolla Cross exist
• Design-wise, the car features a modern form of the brand’s signature Dynamic Shield front fascia with T-shaped headlights and a sculpted bonnet
• The tail lights align with the headlights as they also boast a T-shaped signature

• No concrete details are yet available on the SUV’s interior design with only information at hand is that it will get a “Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium” audio system comprising Coaxial 2-way speakers and Yamaha tweeters for an ultimate sound experience

• According to the reports, the upcoming Mitsubishi SUV may come equipped with a non-electrified internal combustion engine rather than a hybrid setup as the model is en route to ASEAN markets where electrified cars are yet to gain traction
• It is one of the six models Mitsubishi aims to reveal by the end of 2023

As mentioned above, the official global premiere of the mysterious Mitsubishi SUV will be held at GIIAS 2023, set to take place from 10th to 20th August.
