All-new Mitsubishi Triton will unbox on July 26

KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi Motors has finally announced the world premiere date of the fully redesigned Triton. The all-new sixth generation of the pickup truck will be unveiled in Thailand on July 26, 2023. 

Alongside announcing the new Triton debut date, the Japanese automaker also teased several dark images, which reveal both the exterior and the interior of the upcoming pickup truck.

Mitsubishi Motors division general manager of design Seiji Watanabe also explained the design concept of the new Triton by saying, "The all-new Triton has been completely reimagined under the design concept Beast Mode, or audacious and daring. While expressing the toughness and powerfulness expected of a pickup truck, the all-new Triton combines agility with the brand's robust design to create an imposing look. Tough and reliable, the all-new Triton will make customers want to go on any adventure. Please look forward to seeing it in full this July."

The teasers live up to those words and preview an imposing front fascia with a robust grille housing horizontal bars and a raised bonnet. The headlights seem to have the same split design as earlier but with a new T-shaped signature. Just like that, the updated tail lights also feature a T-shaped light signature.

We also get a shadowy preview of the pickup’s cabin, which focuses on the dashboard. It reveals a free-standing big touchscreen display, aircraft-like buttons on the central console, a digital panel for the automatic air-conditioning system, a rotary dial for the 4WD system, and a Drive Mode selector.

No details are yet available on the new Triton’s mechanical front. However, the reports suggest a new ladder-frame chassis equipped with a 2.4-litre DOHC turbo diesel engine.
