Upcoming Mitsubishi Triton previewed in the form of the XRT concept

KUALA LUMPUR: At the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation showcased its brand new concept, the XRT Concept. It is essentially a preview of the upcoming Trition that is set for a 2023 launch.

Mitsubishi Motors President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Takao Kato said, “Fiscal 2023 is an important year for Mitsubishi Motors to accelerate our business in the ASEAN region, with the launch of a fully revamped Triton and an all-new compact SUV.”

“The all-new Triton is going through final touch-ups in preparation for its release, as we have performed rigorous endurance tests around the world while also incorporating the know-how gained from rally activities. With the new vehicle launches as the centerpiece, we will continue our drive toward further growth. Please look forward to the future of Mitsubishi Motors.”

Yes, the long-awaited Triton update is set to arrive this year and it will be a stylish car as can be seen from the XRT Concept.

As per reports, the new Triton will underpin the Nissan Navara platform and so will be no less in reliability and capability.

Here's what the rock-like camouflaged Mitsubishi XRT Concept brings to the table -

• Extra rugged look and feel
• It comes fitted with front and rear over fenders along with mud-terrain tyres
• While the front resembles the ongoing generation, it showcases a more butch and futuristic look

• Grille with a three-hole design
• LED DRL strip on the top of the headlight cluster
• Dakar Rally pickup-inspired wheels
• Shorter overhangs for better load-carrying capabilities
