Most awaited KL City Grand Prix gets a clarification on safety by AAM
Kuala Lumpur : AAM (Automobile Association of Malaysia) finally came out of their dens and cleared off the air of dubiety around the safety concerns of KL City Grand Prix. The most awaited event is about to happen at the Sepang International Circuit in the next weekend.
According to a statement said by the AAM chairman, FIA is the sole international body which is governing this motor sport and it holds the exclusive rights to take all decisions during the direction, management and organization of event.
In Malaysia FIA vested the rights of running this event to AAM, however the final permit will be granted after ensuring all the requirements as per the International Sporting Code are met.
According to the statement report, all safety barriers are tested in accordance with the FIA standards and the layouts are as specified by the FIA Circuits Commission. Sepang International Circuit is designed being meticulous on every detail by the racing circuit designers and all the requirements of safety and medical commissions are being met according to FIA.
The circuit was recently inspected by the AAM and FIA Circuit commission which gave it a green signal to proceed. Although, a final inspection is still pending to make sure the everything is in its place and specially the status of security at the circuit, which is a usual task before any event.
KL City Grand Prix is going to be a historic event for the Malaysians as around 1.2 Billion people from around 115 countries are going to witness it on ESPN and FOX sports. Kuala Lumpur is all dialu-alukan with its iconic Petronas towers and Grand prix to its viewers worldwide.
