New Honda Accord in Modulo bodykit showcased at 2019 BIMS

KUALA LUMPUR: Besides the latest Honda Accord, a Modulo bodykit version of this car is also on display at the ongoing 2019 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS). The tenth-generation Accord was officially launched in Thailand last week, and it follows Honda’s latest design language. The Modulo version has been fitted with a slightly sportier bumper, a trunk-lid spoiler, and chrome garnish on the rear bumper.

To start with the anterior, the Modulo gets a glossy black garnish for the grille that dwells into the headlamps. The LED units are slim and are integrated with the entire fiasco of the grille. The chrome accents are seen on the side-steps and door handles.

The posterior part of this D-segment sedan features a boot lid spoiler with dark chrome accents. A chrome skid is seen at the bottom end of the bumper. Moreover, the bumper also engulfs the exhaust outlet which is ducked behind the bumper.

The 2019 Accord arrives in two engine options - a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.0-litre hybrid mill. The 1.5-litre petrol engine, which replaces the previous gen 2.4 naturally aspirated petrol option, churns out a maximum power of 190 PS and a peak torque of 243 Nm.

On the other hand, the Accord Hybrid comes with the Sport Hybrid i-MMD system that merges two electric motors with the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC engine. The combination of the engine and motors gives an overall maximum power of 218 PS.

The regular 2019 Honda Accord is available in Thailand in five color options namely Modern Steel Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl.

Besides the color options, buyers can also choose between three variants - the Turbo EL, which is priced at 1.5 million baht (RM 192,349), Hybrid at 1.65 million baht (RM 211,584), and Hybrid tech with a price tag of 1.8 million baht (RM 230,819).
