Renault: 15,800 Diesel SUVs Recalled After Emission Updates

Kuala Lumpur: According to the emission standards, Renault SUVs have failed the emission test, claimed the French Emission authorities. The reason behind this pitfall is the malfunctioning of emission filter in the dCi 110 engine between 17-35 degree Celsius. Among 100 models that are selected arbitrarily, there are 25 models of Renault including Renault Captur and Renault Megane. Renault has also proposed a free software upgrade to the customers in order to minimize Nox emissions and meet the criteria of Euro 6 emission standards.

Recently Volkswagen was also found cheating the emission tests but, later on, it was revealed that the Volkswagen vehicles were also emitting carbon dioxide and Nox gases. The Executive Vice-president, Sales & Marketing Mr. Thierry Koskas said, “We are working on a technical plan that should allow us to reduce emissions.”

Although being into action since 1899, the French automaker has successfully developed a successful trade. It has also launched few outstanding vehicles after the year 2000, and in the segment of SUVs, Renault Captur and Renault Koleos have rewardingly captured the market. The high-end sales of Renault cars in the years so far has made a dominating market in the country and has also boosted the sales.

In the year 2015, the Renault Captur made an expansion of sales by selling 400 units. After the emission test results, there might be a pitfall in the sales at present due to low demand of this SUV.
