Chery Malaysia reveals first glimpse of Tiggo Cross Sport Edition

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery is ready to expand the Tiggo Cross lineup in the Malaysian market, with the introduction of the Tiggo Cross Sport Edition. Before that, the automaker has given us a sneak peek at the upcoming model that reflects the brand’s love for sports.

Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition: What to expect?

Based on the Turbo variant, the Tiggo Cross Sport Edition is expected to get a fresher look, with a sporty front and rear lip, sharper detailing, and side ‘winglets’. However, the main grille and headlight layout are likely to remain the same as the donor model. Towards the rear, we can see a rear diffuser insert with faux tailpipe cut-outs, and a ‘Sport’ tailgate badge. 

As for the interior changes, no information is available for now. Under the hood, there will be a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, as the Tiggo Cross Sport Edition is based on the Turbo trim, which delivers a maximum power of 147 PS and a peak torque of 210 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Chinese brand has always had a passion for sports, as demonstrated by its support for Olympians and Paralympians and backing athletes at every level. 

Following the successful Lee Chong Wei Cup badminton tournament earlier this month, Chery is continuing its support for sports and e-sports. This includes being the official mobility partner of the KL Women Running Festival and the official automotive partner for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 18.

This sporting theme now extends to the upcoming Tiggo Cross Sport Edition. This upcoming model will also be awarded as the MPL Malaysia Season 18 Legenda prize, celebrating Mobile Legends Bang Bang’s (MLBB) 10th anniversary.
