Seong Hoe Premium Motors opens a new charging facility for Mini EVs

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no doubt that electric vehicles are quite a rage these days, however, in Malaysia, they are still not getting the required traction. Why? The reason is inadequate EV charging infrastructure and addressing the issue automakers are coming to build charging facilities in the country. The recent MINI Charging facility was introduced by BMW Group Malaysia’s longest-serving dealer in Malacca, Seong Hoe Premium Motors.

Located at Kota Syahbandar, the facility is just two kilometers from the famous Jonker Street. To be precise the new facility is located at Jalan KSB 1, Taman Kota Syahbandar, 75200 Melaka.

The facility incorporates four parking lots which comprise of -

• Two Stellar 40 40 kW chargers: Powered by ChargeSini, it provides 40 kW and 20+20 kW of charging when one and both are in use, respectively
• Two Nexus 22 kW AC chargers

Charges?

For using the new Mini charging facility, users will be charged a minimum of RM 5. Specific rates are -

DC Charger	RM 1.20 per kWh or RM 0.80 per minute
AC Charger	RM 0.07 per minute at 3.7 kW to RM 0.40 per minute

“We are seeing rising demand for not just electrified vehicles amongst our loyal customers in Malacca but also proper infrastructure to support them as well, especially amongst tourists who are visiting and exploring our rich heritage here during the weekends and long holidays,” said Seong Hoe Premium Motors General Manager, Loy Suan Chiow.
