Subaru Levorg Arrives in Thailand, Price Starts from 2.35Million Baht

Kuala Lumpur: Besides the 2016 Subaru XV facelift, Motor Image has also unveiled Subaru Levorg at the 2015 Thailand Motor Expo. The mid-size car made its regional ASEAN debut yesterday and is likely to arrive in Malaysia in the second quarter of 2016.

According to Subaru, the nameplate, “Levorg” has been inspired from following three words: LEgacy, reVOlution, tou RinG. In Thailand market, the 5-door station wagon is available in two variants which are 1.6 GT and 1.6 GT-S with the price range starting from 2.35million.

The powertrain of the both variants of Subaru Levorg features a 1.6-liter Direct Injection Turbo (DIT) Turbocharged Flat-Four Petrol Engine that produces a maximum power of 167hp between 4800 to 5600 revolutions and a maximum torque of 250Nm between 1800 to 4800 revolutions. The power is delivered to all four wheels through a 6-Speed Lineartronic CVT Transmission and Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.

Moving to the dimensions, the Subaru Levorg is 4,690 mm (184.6 in) long, 1,780 mm (70.1 in) wide and 1,490 mm (58.7 in) tall, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm (104.3 in). Akin to the existing Subaru lineup, the 5-door station wagon features C-Shaped Headlights and Taillights besides the standard kit of halogen projectors, 18-inch alloy wheels and side mirrors with signal indicators.

Inside, the cockpit of Subaru Levorg flaunts the familiar Subaru look. The 7-inch multimedia touchscreen sits on a commanding position on the dashboard, just below a pair of A.C. vents and two screens, with one being 4WD monitor and the other a multiple-info display. Other significant features of Subaru Levorg interior include the leather steering wheel with controls on it, electronic parking brake, keyless entry and engine start, and ventilated fabric seats. The rear seats can be folded to increase the total boot space, which is measured at 522 litres.

While the Subaru Levorg is likely to make to its Malaysia debut in the second quarter of 2016, its arrival is mainly subjected to Motor Images plans which include the official launch of the XV crossover in January followed by the locally assembled (CKD) Forester. Apart from that. The price of fully-imported (CBU) Levorg in Malaysia is also subjected to the ringgit-yen exchange rate.
