The first official image of Polestar 3 revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: The official unveiling of Polestar’s upcoming electric SUV, the Polestar 3, is scheduled for October 2022. Before the launch, there is a lot of buzz around the EV, with the automaker showing the car on several occasions, though fully covered in black-white camouflage. As the reveal is approaching, Polestar has introduced the car’s first official image.

Polestar has revealed its upcoming SUV’s first official image, a side profile, which sure looks appealing with elements like -

• Unique LED headlight with signature Thor’s hammer DRLs
• Smooth, sculpted boot
• Wide air vents
• Stylish wheels with designer rims
• Body-coloured, flush-fitted door handles

• Dual-tone ORVM
• Flared wheel arches
• Smooth roofline
• Black B-pillars
• Tailgate spoiler

• Stylish wrap-around tail lights
• Raked windscreen
• Window wiper
• Black roof

Apart from sharing the Polestar 3’s design details, the automaker also shared a few technical and mechanical details. A few highlighting bits about the upcoming SUV include -

• A claimed range of 598.6 km per charge (WLTP cycle)
• The EV shares its platform with the next-gen Volvo XC90
• Powering the Polestar 3 is a twin-motor all-wheel-drive mill paired with a large battery pack
• A single-motor version is on the cards

Though Polestar didn’t share any cabin images of its upcoming EV SUV, we know it will benefit from a minimalistic, premium cabin with two rows. Also, part of the list is -

• Premium vegan leather upholstery
• Auto climate control
• Multi-function steering wheel
• Android-based touchscreen infotainment system with the latest connectivity features

Like all its previous offerings, the upcoming Polestar 3 would be a stylish but safe EV. It will come equipped with gears like an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, multiple airbags, parking cameras, etc.

The Polestar 3 will be manufactured in the US and China and, on arrival, will compete against the likes of BMW iX and Jaguar I-Pace. In the US, the EV would cost around $75,000 (RM 33,000) with booking commencing from October.
