Toyota launches the Crown Landscape in Japan for off-road enthusiasts

KUALA LUMPUR:  Renowned for its versatility, the iconic Toyota Crown series has embraced several body styles over the decades, ranging from classic sedans to modern iterations like the lifted sedan and crossover SUVs. The model now comes in a new all-terrain special edition called the Landscape, exclusively for the Japanese market.

The Toyota Crown Landscape is designed to offer a blend of off-road capability and urban practicality to off-road enthusiasts seeking versatility without compromising on comfort. 

The special edition Crown sets itself apart with a rugged yet refined design, featuring a subtle one-inch lift that enhances its off-road capability. Equipped with robust 18-inch wheels wrapped in 245/60 all-terrain tyres, this crossover can conquer any terrain with confidence, ensuring a smooth and reliable journey on every adventure.

Adding to its rugged charm are beefy wheel arches finished in a sleek matte texture and adorned with exposed rivets and vibrant red mud flaps positioned behind each wheel. Those seeking even more versatility can also opt for a roof rack, which offers ample space for storing additional gear and equipment, making it ready for any expedition or weekend getaway.

The Crown Landscape is also sprayed with a distinctive Urban Khaki (a light green hue) paint finish, complemented by sleek gloss "Gori Gori Black'' accents strategically placed across the hood, trunk, and door trim. The rear fog lights are also added on either side of the license plate, offering optimal visibility in challenging driving conditions.

The interior remains largely unchanged, with a special "Landscape" badge prominently displayed on the dashboard, confirming the model’s unique identity.

The special edition Toyota Crown also comes powered by an exclusive Hybrid Max AWD powertrain. The said system combines a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder with a rear-mounted electric motor churning out a total output of 340 horsepower.

The production of the Toyota Crown Landscape is carried out at the brand’s Tsunami plant in Japan just like other Crown models. The price tag of the off-road trim reads JPY 6,850,000, which is the equivalent to RM 214,233.
