Toyota RAV4 gets a new Adventure trim for Europe

KUALA LUMPUR: Toyota RAV4 gets an update for the 2022 model year and it has been introduced in the European market.

The highlight of the said update is a new rugged-looking Adventure variant that's been designed for those who prefer to travel the off-beaten path.

So, what do we know about the new 2022 Toyota RAV4 Adventure trim?

In terms of looks, the RAV4 Adventure gets a new front fascia that features a new bumper (like the one seen in US-spec Adventure trim), and a new all-black grille with the company's badge sitting in the middle of a horizontal trim piece. Also, part of its rugged design kit is - 19-inch alloys in a matte grey finish, two-tone Urban Kaki & Dynamic Grey colour tone, and chunkey underbody bash plate-like element on the front & rear bumper.

To our delight, there are some inclusions that will be shared across the RAV4 lineup. For instance -

• New projector-type LED headlights
• LED front fog lights
• New 10-spoke alloy wheels (finished in either gloss black or bright silver tone)

On the inside, the 2022 RAV4 Adventure trim gets variant-exclusive black synthetic leather upholstery with quilted seat surface and orange cross-stitching. Not to forget the special door sills scuff plates.

Like the exterior, the interior also benefits from some inclusions that are applied throughout the RAVs range. They are -

• New LED lighting
• Illuminated window control switches
• Power-adjustable front passenger seat
• New USB-C charging ports

What powers the new Toyota RAV4 Adventure trim?

Powering RAVs latest sporty-looking variant is the automaker’s fourth-gen hybrid powertrain, a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder mill with two electric motors, one on each axle. The combined system output rests at 222 hp and 221 Nm.

Also, part of the kit is an intelligent all-wheel drive offered by an additional e-motor on the rear axle.

What about production & deliveries?

The new Toyota RAV4 Adventure trim will enter production at the end of this year with deliveries starting from Q1 of 2022.
