2026 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Boon Siew Honda has rolled out the upgraded version of its flagship adventure icon, the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES, in Malaysia. Available in two new colours, the refreshed model features a bolder presence with updated stripes and designs.

Price 

The new Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES is priced at RM 99,888 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration) in Malaysia. Included in the price is a 2-year or 20,000 km (whichever comes first) manufacturing warranty.

Engine & transmission 

The Africa Twin is powered by the tried and tested 1,084-cc parallel-twin cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with revised valve timing, for effortless on and off-road adventures. The mill generates a maximum power of 102 hp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 112 Nm at 5,500 rpm. It comes mated to a Honda Dual Clutch Transmission that provides a ‘feathered’ clutch feel to ease riding journeys. 

Ride & handling

The bike comes with Throttle-By-Wire (TBW) management and a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) comprising

• 7-level Honda Selectable Torque Control
• 3-level Wheelie Control
• Cornering ABS (with off-road setting)
• Rear Lift Control
• DCT cornering detection

Also part of the kit are four riding modes - Urban, Tour, Gravel, and Off-road, offering better adaptability across different terrains. Ensuring smooth handling and manoeuvrability is a 19-inch front wheel (paired with an 18-inch rear wheel) and low centre gravity with minimum ground clearance of 220 mm.

Design and features

The bike features a rugged and aerodynamically enhanced design with an extended front fairing. It comes equipped with full LED lighting, USB charging socket, and a 6.5-inch TFT-LCD full-colour instrument cluster with supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration and hands-free wireless Bluetooth connectivity. 

Adding to touring comfort is a large premium seat with adjustable seating height between 820 mm and 840 mm without tools and a 5-level height-adjustable screen that ensures all-day endurance.

Suspension & braking 

The suspension setup comprises Showa EERATM at both ends, offering real-time damping adjustments across four modes - Hard, Mid, Soft, and Off-Road. The braking duties are managed by twin discs and twin radial-mount four-piston callipers at the front and a single disc at the back, complemented by the Anti-Lock Braking System.

Colours

Two available colour options are - Pearl Glare White and Matte Iridium Gray Metallic.

The all-new Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES will be available at all Honda BigWing dealerships nationwide by May 2026.
