The 2025 GAC M8 PHEV Luxury gets full leather upholstery on the front and captain seats, with contrast stitching and plush padding. Upper door panels and dashboard are wrapped in soft-touch materials. Lower panels get high-quality textured plastics. Second-row captain seats in the Luxury trim gets power-adjust leg rests, ventilation, heating and a multi-point massage. The dashboard is dominated by a large 14.6-inch central touchscreen that runs on Qualcomm 8155 chipset, paired with a 12.3-inch full-colour instrument cluster. The floating screen architecture visually unifies the driver’s and the central stack. The infotainment system is connected to an eight-speaker audio system. The cabin gets 108 sound-insulation points along with engine noise control delivers a super-quiet interior. The M8 PHEV comes with multi-zone automatic climate control, PM2.5 filtration and GAC’s ‘Cool-Sense’ air delivery system. Rear occupants benefit from dedicated air vents. All in-cabin physical controls are logically grouped. The leather-wrapped steering wheel has easy access buttons. There are useful physical climate shortcuts below the screen. The 2025 GAC M8 PHEV measures 5,212mm in length, 1,893mm in width, and 1,823mm in height. The car has a wheelbase of 3,070mm. The multipurpose vehicle (MPV) sports GAC’s Star Diamond Prism styling. The front sports a bold grille that’s aggressive. The MPV comes with all-around LED lighting. The 2025 GAC M8 PHEV runs on 18-inch alloy wheels with a non-rotating logo hubcap. The light bar at the back uses 320 LEDs and gets sequential turn signals. The dual/panoramic sunroof (depending on trim) adds to the luxury feel and openness of the cabin. Other features include chrome window surrounds, acoustic privacy glass for the side and rear windows, and sliding rails (for the interior but visible externally). At the back, there’s a hands-free powered tailgate. It’s a functional luxury addition, particularly for a MPV of this size. The 143mm ground clearance hints that while the body is large, the 2025 GAC M8 PHEV is optimized more for comfort than for rugged terrain.

The 2025 GAC M8 PHEV offers impressive comfort and ride quality. The seats are luxurious. The second-row captain chairs create a lounge-on-wheels ambiance. The MPV is mounted on front MacPherson and a rear multi-link suspension setup. The top-level model adds electromagnetic dampers for better absorption of uneven surfaces. Handling of the 2025 GAC M8 PHEV feels confident. It isn’t sporty and is not meant to be. The adaptive vehicle dynamics control system keeps the body roll under control. It retains stability through bends. But the M8 is tailored more for refined cruising than hard cornering.

The 2025 GAC M8 PHEV is hauled by turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 190 PS/300 Nm. The motor is mated to two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). The electric motor outputs 182 PS/300 Nm. The pure electric range is up to 120km. The full hybrid/fuel range is up to 1,038km. On city roads, the electric mode dominates. It produces a smooth, nearly silent performance. On the highway, the strong torque ensures effortless overtaking and long-range cruising. 

The 2025 GAC M8 PHEV is equipped with a 360-degree surround‐view cameras system and parking sensors. For dynamic driving, the radars and sensors work with the driver-assist suite that comprises adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, rear-cross traffic alert and lane-keep assist. The MPV gets a 360-degree all-round airbag system. It includes a rear windscreen airbag. The 2025 GAC M8 PHEV is manufactured from high-strength steel that provides added safety. 

The 2025 GAC M8 PHEV has a starting price of RM 328,800. It’s rather high-priced, considering GAC is a new brand and is yet to establish a countrywide network. But with a richly appointed interior, advanced tech and safety, the MPV would appeal to upmarket buyers.
