Although Crossovers are increasingly getting famous among car lovers in Malaysia, but there is still a segment of people who prefer the sedan. These vehicles are designed for elegance, quality, comfort and above that top-of-the-line performance as well. In coming months, we will witness many new sedans getting launched in Malaysia. Every car has its own USP which cater to a specific segment of buyers. Now, we present you a list of notable sedans that will hit the Malaysian market in coming future.

1. Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class 250

Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is a compact luxury sedan which marked its debut in April 2013. just after the debut, Western Europe and the United States became its largest market. This car is a perfect blend of high power along with elegant appearance. Under the hood, it is available with a 154 hp 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 355 hp 2.0-litre petrol engine.

2. Peugeot 408

Peugeot recently added another heir to carry forward the French legacy under the moniker Peugeot 408. The 408 is a four-door compact sedan vehicle released in the year 2010. It is based on the unique guiding spirit of Peugeot design stylists, that can be summed up in capacious interiors, refined performance and elegant design. The Peugeot 408 owns a 1.6-litre powerhouse placed under their hoods. This engine knocks out a maximum power counting 163 hp at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque measuring 240 Nm at 1400 rpm. The power is distributed to the front axles owing to its 6-speed auto adaptive gearbox with Tiptronic and Sports mode making it a perfect amalgamation of performance and elegance.

3. Jaguar XE

The British automaker Jaguar has an extensive fleet of cars in Malaysia, but the latest to add up is its saloon XE. It is a compact sedan that competes with the likes of BMW 3 series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-class. Due to its upscale proportions, it stands out from the competitors. In Malaysia, it would be available in both diesel and petrol variants. The sole diesel engine includes a 298 hp 2.0-litre turbocharged engine while the petrol variants include a 200 hp 2.0-litre i4 turbocharged engine, a 240 hp 2.0-litre i4 turbocharged engine and a 340 hp 3.0-litre V6 engine.

4. Proton Perdana

Since 1995, this car has managed to become a personal favourate among car lovers in Malaysia. Now the all-new Perdana is set to take the Malaysian auto market by storm. The national automaker has given it a striking layout with broad C-pillars and shallower angle. Going by the rumours, it would be using the Honda Accord's 2.0-litre (154 hp/189 Nm) and 2.4-litre i-VTEC ( 177 hp/222 Nm) petrol engines.

5. Volkswagen Passat

Estimated Price: RM175,000

Volkswagen Passat is all set to be a fierce competitor even for luxuries like BMW 3 Series and Mercedes Benz-C Class. First launched in 1973, now this car is entering in its eighth generation. With the latest facelift, the German automaker has given it a revolutionised look. Under the hood, it would be powered by a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder TSI turbocharged engine which delivers a maximum power of 160 PS.
