Mazda 2: A Car With Multiple Awards

Kuala Lumpur: Mazda 2 is a renowned name in the hatchback market of Malaysia. With competitors like Kia Rio, Honda Jazz and Ford Fiesta, this car has proved to be a serious contender. Moreover, what proves it to be a true winner is numerous awards which it has got over a period of time. The list includes ASEAN Compact Car of the Year 2015, New Straits Times / Maybank Car of the Year 2015 and Car of the Year Japan 2014-2015.

Even Bermaz Motors, the official distributor of Mazda Malaysia is aware of Mazda 2's popularity and due to this they try to vouch on it by enticing their customers with something new. That is why, last year they added three new colours to the already existing range of colours of Mazda 2. Currently running in its third-generation, this is the fourth car after Mazda CX-5, Mazda 6 and Mazda 3 to gain the company's very own 'KODO- Soul of Motion' design language. Since its launch in 2002, this car has evolved itself in many ways and have added a new value to the B-segment market. What more can we expect from a true winner.

Talking about the car, under the hood it is powered by a Skyactiv-G in-line 4-cylinder DOHC engine which churns out a maximum power of 114 hp at 6000 rpm along with a peak torque of 148 Nm at 4000 rpm. Further, this engine is mated with a Skyactiv-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission along with electronic power assisted steering. Moreover, it is also assisted with electronically controlled direct injection fuel system which helps to achieve an impressive fuel economy of 19.2 kmpl. From engine to its styling, from handling to its safety, the car has surpassed each and every competitor in an effective manner and it seems like the competitors have to work really hard to give Mazda 2 a tough competition.
