2015 Ranger Revealed by Ford Thailand
KUALA LUMPUR: At the Bangkok International Motor Show, the 2015 Ranger has finally been launched by Ford Thailand.
As far as the interior of this new Ranger is considered, significant changes can be witnessed, as the dashboard is upgraded from its predecessor giving it an innovative look. A new futuristic dual-TFT screen flanking the speedometer is armed within the instrument cluster. An 8-inch touch screen display for the SYNC 2 infotainment system is featured at the center stack. The controls are well-arranged with some driving stuff, while an all-wheel drive controller is placed near the shifter, which aids driving. Along with this, the steering wheel controls with the new infotainment system is enhanced so that different tasks related to driving can be carried easily. Also, the door lock/unlock button has now been shifted to the driver's door panel.
A 3.2 L Duratorq inline-5 TDCI engine, which is carried from its previous version, is present that it generates 200 PS of power with 470 Nm of torque. Another engine option is an enhanced variant of the 2.2. L Duratorq-4 TDCI producing 160 PS and 385 Nm of torque, which was previously rated at an output of 150 PS and 365 Nm. The base variant is provided with a 2.2L engine, which is considered as high-efficiency version and delivers the output of 125 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The consumers have an option regarding transmissions, as they can choose either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
The suspension has also been fine-tuned to enhance the handling of the car, while increasing comfortability. Additionally, an upgraded electric power-assisted steering system is provided in the new Everest. According to Ford, “ The steering is light and manageable for low-speed maneuvering, such as parking, and precise at higher speeds.”
SYNC 2 in-car connectivity has been added in the car, along with an additional rear camera which helps in Park Assist. An electronic stability program is included for active driving, which combines both rollover mitigation and trailer sway control to ensure that the vehicle remains stable in rough conditions. Essential features like Hill Launch Assist, Hill Decent Control, Adaptive Load Control and Emergency Brake Assistance are present for improved safety purposes.
Regarding prices, the Standard Cab ranges from THB 549,000 to THB 749,000. For the open cab, prices start from THB 599 to THB 859,000, while the double cab is priced from THB 789,000 to THB 1,019,000. For Wildtrak price range is from THB 925,000 to THB 1,139,000.
