2026 Mitsubishi Xforce launched in Malaysia, bags 2,600 bookings so far

KUALA LUMPUR: Globally introduced in 2023, the Mitsubishi Xforce has finally landed on Malaysian soil. The local official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles, Mitsubishi Motor Malaysia, has just launched the much-anticipated SUV, causing a stir in the highly competitive B-segment space. 

Designed to deliver smart, practical value tailored to the needs of modern-day buyers, the Mitsubishi Xforce is offered in two locally-assembled (CKD) variants, priced as follows -

1.5-litre MIVEC engine with high-efficiency CVT gearbox

Powering the latest Mitsubishi SUV is a 1.5-litre DOHC 16-valve MIVEC engine that generates a maximum power of 105 PS and a peak torque of 141 Nm. The engine comes mated to a high-efficiency CVT, promising low fuel consumption and quiet operation. With a fuel consumption of 5.6 litres per 100 km, it delivers up to 750 km of driving range on a single full tank.

First-in-class four modes 

While the Xforce is a 2WD SUV, it utilises the automaker’s four-wheel drive control technology with four distinct drive modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud. Designed for ASEAN weather and roads, the Mitsubishi-first Wet mode offers better cornering and stability on wet roads during rain.

Dynamic off-road handling 

The SUV combines the robust drivetrain tech with smart electronic assists for a composed, agile and high-confidence driving experience. Adding to its dynamic off-road handling are - 

• Well-tuned suspension setup
• Active Yaw Control: It provides smoother cornering and improved stability by managing wheel torque across both sides.
• Best-in-class ground clearance: The SUV has a class-leading ground clearance of 222 mm, making driving easy on rough or flooded roads.
• Best in class approach angle and departure angle, measured at 21.0 degrees and 30.5 degrees, respectively
• Minimum turning radius promising excellent handling even in the U-turns common in ASEAN cities

Bold and elegant exterior design 

The new Mitsubishi Xforce features a bold and elegant design with an evolved Dynamic Shield front face, featuring a striking grille, distinctive T-shaped lighting signature, and L-shaped LED daytime running lights. The rear looks wide and confident with T-shaped LED tail lights and a rear spoiler. 

Other key highlights include 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, welcome and cornering home light, LED front fog lamps, power-adjustable side mirrors, automatic windshield wipers, powered tailgate with kick sensor, and a black tailgate spoiler.

Spacious and upmarket cabin

Inside, the SUV features a horizontal-axis design with a wide layout, creating a more open and spacious feel. The automaker used mélange fabric for the padding of the instrument panel for the first time, which is resistant to stains. 

Designed with a focus on comfort and practicality, the Mitsubishi Xforce comes equipped with 22 convenient storage spaces, including - 

• Drink holders in the door trims, floor console, and other places, accommodating a total of 21 600 mL plastic bottles
• A drink cooler in the console box 
• A dedicated phone storage near each seat

The impressive cargo floor space comes with a height-adjustable function, accommodating large items such as suitcases. The luggage storage capacity is measured at 410 litres.

Depending on the variant picked, the vehicle comes equipped with the following bits - 

• 4.2-inch TFT gauge cluster (8-inch fully digital with the Ultimate trim)
• 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit (12.3-inch with the Ultimate trim)
• Wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (wireless with the Ultimate trim)

• Dual-zone automatic climate control 
• 6-speaker sound system (8-speaker Yamaha sound system with the Ultimate trim)

Advanced safety features 

As for safety, the SUV is packed with four airbags, a 360-degree surround view camera, rear-cross traffic alert, blind spot monitors, hill start assist, and parking sensors (front and rear).

With the top-spec model, customers also get two additional airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system and Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing ADAS pack, comprising adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go function, lead car departure notification, forward collision mitigation, and automatic high-beam. 

Mitsubishi Xforce early bird promo 

Mitsubishi has extended the Xforce early bird promo for customers who place their bookings up until 12 April. The promo offers -

• RM 5,000 cash rebate
• 3 free labour services
• Entry into a “Buy 1 Free 1” contest, where one lucky winner will have a chance to win a brand-new Xforce Ultimate. 

The existing Mitsubishi Motors owners and their immediate family members are also entitled to the Loyalty Programme, offering an additional cash rebate of RM 1,000.

Mitsubishi Xforce grabs 2,600 bookings to date

Since bookings opened on 5 February, the Mitsubishi Xforce has received a strong response from Malaysians, grabbing more than 2,600 bookings to date.
