2026 Mitsubishi Xforce launched in Malaysia, bags 2,600 bookings so far
KUALA LUMPUR: Globally introduced in 2023, the Mitsubishi Xforce has finally landed on Malaysian soil. The local official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles, Mitsubishi Motor Malaysia, has just launched the much-anticipated SUV, causing a stir in the highly competitive B-segment space.

1.5-litre MIVEC engine with high-efficiency CVT gearbox
Powering the latest Mitsubishi SUV is a 1.5-litre DOHC 16-valve MIVEC engine that generates a maximum power of 105 PS and a peak torque of 141 Nm. The engine comes mated to a high-efficiency CVT, promising low fuel consumption and quiet operation. With a fuel consumption of 5.6 litres per 100 km, it delivers up to 750 km of driving range on a single full tank.

First-in-class four modes
While the Xforce is a 2WD SUV, it utilises the automaker’s four-wheel drive control technology with four distinct drive modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud. Designed for ASEAN weather and roads, the Mitsubishi-first Wet mode offers better cornering and stability on wet roads during rain.

Advanced safety features
As for safety, the SUV is packed with four airbags, a 360-degree surround view camera, rear-cross traffic alert, blind spot monitors, hill start assist, and parking sensors (front and rear).
With the top-spec model, customers also get two additional airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system and Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing ADAS pack, comprising adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go function, lead car departure notification, forward collision mitigation, and automatic high-beam.

Mitsubishi Xforce grabs 2,600 bookings to date
Since bookings opened on 5 February, the Mitsubishi Xforce has received a strong response from Malaysians, grabbing more than 2,600 bookings to date.
“The strong response of 2,600 bookings we have seen reflects a clear shift in Malaysian consumer preferences towards SUVs that combine style, convenience, and everyday comfort,” said Takashi Sakamaki, Chief Executive Officer of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
“This trend is also visible in the broader compact SUV segment, which has grown by 6.3% (MMM’s Financial Year to date April 2025 to February 2026), driven by demand for versatile, stylish design models.
