Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a big hit all around the world; even in Malaysia, the HSDM has bagged more than 200 bookings of the EV in a couple of months. Well, today we are not going to talk about this most successful Hyundai EV but rather its fraternal twin, the Kia EV6. The latter has also gained much popularity and acclaim in the global market, and now it is ready to hit our shores to create a history. So, here we have listed the five most interesting features you will get with the upcoming Kia EV.

Augmented Reality HUD

While a head-up display is a common feature in modern-day cars, the Kia EV6 benefits from an augmented reality HUD. This next-level up tech offers all significant information like navigation, speed limit detection, blind-spot monitoring, and turn-by-turn signals on the windscreen. It eliminates distractions and side glances and makes the drive safer as compared to cars with a display at the center of the dashboard or on a hanging phone, which involves some form of deviation from the road. You can also find this new-gen tech on the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. 

Onboard Power Generator

Another interesting feature of the upcoming Kia EV6 is the availability of a vehicle to Load ports. With its help, you can turn your EV into a portable power outlet and use it to charge/power electrical devices like mobile phones, laptops, home appliances, electric bikes, camping stuff, and more. It offers a power supply of up to 3.6kWh. Note that this system will not work when charging the EV itself.

Virtual Valet/Car Call function

The Kia EV6 comes with a Virtual Valet Parking Assist, which not only parks the vehicle remotely but also pulls it out when parked into tight and uncomfortable spaces. The EV’s sensors control the steering wheel, vehicle speed, and gears automatically and conveniently guide it into perpendicular as well as parallel parking spaces. So, now you need to worry about parking while going to a mall located in the centre of the city.

Customise driving sound

Almost all luxury EV makers inject sounds into the cabin to alleviate the strange silence that is mostly accompanied by road noise. However, Kia offers you the option of customising driving sound to be played inside the car. The broad categories of these sounds are Off, Soft, Normal, and Enhanced. Besides opting for any of these, you can also control the sound with advanced settings option provided for a more personalised experience.

Auto Relaxation seats

Kia has designed the interior layout of the EV6 in a highly optimised manner. The most interesting highlight of this part is the Auto Relaxation seats which enable you to convert the front seats into a lounge. At the tap of a button, the electrically-adjustable front seat reclines back in an optimised position. It can also slide back for more legroom. This feature will most probably come in function at the time of charging the EV at a public charging station.

So, these were the exciting and innovative Kia EV6 features. Besides these, you can also find many other advanced tech goodies inside the EV’s cabin. The list includes a 12.3-inch digital display, 12.3-inch infotainment display, Bose sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charger, dual-zone automatic air conditioning system, and tons of advanced active and passive safety features.

The EV comes in two battery packs in the global markets - a 77.4-kWh and a 58-kWh with both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options. The long-range version is said to offer a driving range of 510 km on a single charge. In terms of performance, the car completes the century sprint in 5.2 seconds and maxes out at a top speed of 260 kmph.
