Limited-edition Alpine A110S designed by Felipe Pantone revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: A few weeks ago, the 'Alpine F1 x Felipe Pantone' was introduced to the world as the first model came out from the collaboration of Renault’s affiliate Alpine and an Argentinian artist Felipe Pantone. And, now here comes the second one, the Alpine A110S x Felipe Pantone that makes the pretty uncommon mid-engine sports car A110, more exotic and rarer.

According to the automaker, Felipe Pantone spent long hours studying the brand and history before tackling this project. He also drove the sports coupe to feel its unique personality. All this resulted in a dynamic and elegant interpretation of the A110 that we can see in front of us. It features graphic lines that follow the car’s shape and give an impression of speed even when it stands still. It also dons the Felipe Pantone signature colours - black and white.

The car’s unique paintwork is carried out entirely by hand by the artist, which took several weeks. “My idea regarding the work on the A110 is to evoke a sense of “ultradynamism”. Visual speed is something that I have been investigating for years now and that I feel it really comes together on this car, emphasizing it’s brilliant design with a fast, technological look," says Felipe Pantone.

The design car is based on the most powerful iteration of the A110, which sources its power from a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission, the mill generates a maximum power output of 292 PS and a peak torque of 320 Nm. Performance-wise, this speed demon can hit the 0-100 kmph mark in just 4.4 seconds and can attain a top speed of 260 kmph.

Cédric Journel, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Alpine mentioned, “Through this second collaboration with Alpine, Felipe Pantone once again demonstrates the extent of his talent. The creative work and its execution are exceptional. The colour schemes, geometric shapes, and optical effects reveal the A110 in a new light, with a heightened sense of movement. This work results in a modern, dynamic and captivating work of art.”

The automaker offers only three models of this rare model that will also have subtle graphic variations for more exclusivity. The price? An eyebrow-raising price tag reads 125,000 euros (RM 631,782).
