Aston Martin DBS Superleggera arrives in Malaysia; to replace Vanquish S

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is accorded with the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, which was unveiled back in the middle of last year. The premium car comes with an optimised version of 5.2-litre, twin-turbocharged, V12 power mill and is said to replace the Vanquish S to take the top position in the British carmaker’s lineup.

DBS Superleggera reflects its grandeur in its aggressive outfit. It is framed with an evolved DB11’s lightweight bonded aluminium structure, and the entire body panel is carved using carbon fibres. The front of the vehicle features a large honeycomb grille followed by a splendid bonnet. Both the sides of the bonnet house an elongated LED headlamps, illuminated by a strip of LED lights.

The rear of the car features a highly narrow blade-shaped LED taillights. No wonder, this highly powerful coaster comes with quadruple exhaust units, two on either side.

The car darts on 21-inch wheels wrapped in tyres measuring 265/35ZR21 in front and 305/30ZR21 at the back. Both the tyres are supplemented with carbon-ceramic brake discs measuring 410 mm at 360 mm for the front and back, respectively.

Ingressing inside, the car equips Sport Plus seats covered in leather and Alcantara along with a Sport Plus steering wheel. The infotainment package includes the Bang & Olufsen audio system and supports USB playback, Bluetooth and digital radio. The display is an eight-inch panel, which can be controlled through centre console touchpad. Moreover, the company also offers a high degree of customization as per the buyer's choice.

Under the hood, the DBS Superleggera is powered by an optimised version of the 5.2-litre, bi-turbo, V12 engine as mentioned before. The mill performs exceptionally well by delivering a maximum power of 715 hp at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 900 Nm between a rev range of 1,800 rpm and 5,000 rpm. The massive torque helps the car to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph within just 3.4 seconds before attaining a maximum speed of 340 kmph.

The company has already received three bookings in Malaysia and is expecting to get 17 more. Aston Martin DBS Superleggera price tag reads RM 2.88 million (inclusive of taxes).
