BMW's Two New Concepts by Next Month
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW will be shedding the curtains off the two new concepts at the 2015 Monterey Car Week next month in the US, which would be later revealed at the Pebble Beach Show. The German auto maker released the only picture, which shows a racing sporty steering wheel indicating that one of the two concepts would be performance focused. There are rumors floating about the two concepts that point towards the preview of hydrogen-powered BMW i8 and the upcoming BMW M2.
The wheel carries the company's trademark red and blue stitching, large paddle shifters along with the buttons like “Cool”, “Flash”, “PSL”, “radio”, “alarm” and “wiper”, as of now nothing can be said regarding their functionalities, but soon expect the company to reveal the suspense. It is likely that this sporty steering wheel with paddle shifters to become a part of the upcoming BMW i8 powered by hydrogen technology.
According to the rumors, the other concept could be the M2 coupe, the reason for it being the similar fashion release for the M4 concept around two years back. The M2 coupe is assumed to be tuned down version of the existing M3 and M4 which would be powered by 3.0L twin-turbocharged engine with the capability to produce 400 hp. It is likely to get a 7-speed M dual clutch automatic transmission system.
BMW's Designworks studio based in California, US has played a significant role in the making of at least one of the upcoming two concepts, but to know more regarding the same, we'll have to wait for the event at the 2015 Monterey Car Week.
