KUALA LUMPUR: BYD is Malaysia's best-selling EV brand with 5,400 units sold in the first six months of the year. With five pure electric cars (Atto 3, Seal, Dolphin, Sealion 7, and M6) already on offer in the local market, the Chinese EV giant is gearing up to introduce a new one soon, the Atto 2.

Dimensions
Positioned between the Dolphin and Atto 3, the Atto 2 measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. Compared to the Atto 3, it is 145 mm shorter and 45 mm slimmer.
The boot capacity of the EV is estimated at 400 litres, which can be increased to 1,340 litres when the split folding rear seat is lowered.
Exterior
The Atto 3 is a compact SUV with a striking exterior. It adopts the family design language of the Dragon Face, created by BYD's Global Design Director, Wolfgang Egger. The robust exterior conveys strength and durability, while short overhangs and powerful body curves add a sporty look.

When it comes to charging, the battery supports up to 65 kW DC and 11 kW AC charging power. It can juice up from 30 to 80% in 28 minutes.
Price
While no information is yet available on the BYD Atto 2 price in Malaysia, the EV retails between CNY 96,800 (RM 57,391) and CNY 119,800 (RM 71,027) in China.
