KUALA LUMPUR: Ferrari cars are known for their extraordinary performance, style, and exclusivity. To commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Enzo Ferrari, the Italian supercar manufacture has teamed up with the popular bicycle maker Bianchi. Together the two launched the unique SF01 bicycle.
The Ferrari-Bianchi bicycle is just limited to 12 units and comes with space-age tech. It also sports the reversed Scuderia Ferrari badge.
Here are a few things about the SF01 bicycle -
- It is a high-performance road-biased bicycle
- It is built on an ultralight carbon frame that features Bianchi’s vibration-cancelling technology called Countervail
- The bicycle also benefits from a unique fibre architecture with a viscoelastic resin (resin cab deform from external pressure/force and return to its original form, once the force is removed)
- The bicycle is claimed to cancel out 80% of the vibration, thus resulting in a mind-blowing weight of just 780 grams
- The vibration-cancelling frame used in the bicycle also reduces muscular fatigue and contributes to enhanced performance and control
- It gets lightweight (94 grams) custom carbon fibre seat by Astute
- The SF01 uses the same 3K type carbon fibre in its seat that is also found in many Ferrari cars
- Bicycles carbon rims are covered in top-of-the-line Pirelli P Zero Clinchers
- The tyres are made up of SmartNet Silicon compound that constitutes of 17 different materials, all designed to offer the best performance without compromising on weight
- In addition, the company claims the tyres to have high wet grip, high rolling efficiency, high puncture resistance, enhanced tyre life, and sturdy sidewalls for enhanced lean angle
- The bicycle employs a 12-speed transmission with a derailleur on both the sprockets
- For optimum weight reduction as well as strength, the SF01 uses titanium pedals
Amazing isn’t it? How much-advanced tech has gone into making this bicycle boggles are mind, and it surely comes at a hefty price. It costs USD 18,600, which is around 80,572 Malaysian Ringgits.
