KUALA LUMPUR: Ferrari is set to cause a stir in the premium electric car market with the rollout of its much-awaited EV later this year. The Italian automaker, known for its roaring petrol engines, will unveil its first battery-operated vehicle on October 9, 2025.

    The Ferrari EV is quite a big deal for car enthusiasts curious to see what the sports car manufacturer has in store when it comes to zero-emission vehicles. The rumours suggest a low-slung, crossover SUV with a front design inspired by the Ferrari Roma.

    Coming to Ferrari sales 2024, the company sold a total of 13,752 units in 2024, which represents a year-on-year growth of 0.7%. It reported a profit of €2.56 billion (approx RM 11.78 billion) during the year. The automaker phased out Portofino M, SF90 Stradale, 812, and Roma models in 2024 to speed up the production of the Roma Spider, Purosangue, SF90 XX, 296 GTS, and 12Cilindri.

    As for 2025, Ferrari anticipates a profit of €2.68 billion (RM 12.33 billion) with the help of new product launches.
