Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale and Spider road-legal supercars revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: Ferrari has introduced the two hardcore limited edition iterations of the SF90, the SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider. The SF90 XX Stradale is a coupe that will be offered in a limited quantity of 799 units, while the SF90 XX Spider convertible will have a limited production run of 599 units.

The new SF90 XX models are the first street-legal cars from Ferrari’s XX programme, as the earlier XX supercars were strictly limited to track use.

Both SF90 XX models are powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors (two on the front axle and one placed between the engine and transmission). Combinedly, the system churns out a maximum power of 1,016 hp, representing a bump of 30 hp over the standard SF90. Also, part of the pack is a 7.9kWh battery pack.

In terms of performance, the SF90 XX completes the century sprint in 2.3 seconds only. The coupe version hits 0-200 kmph in 6.5 seconds, while the Spider accomplishes the same in 6.7 seconds.

Other key highlights are -

• A fixed rear spoiler as a part of the aerodynamic overhaul capable of generating 315 kg of downforce at 250 kmph
• A single wraparound light bar spanning the width of the aggressive rear
• Carbon fibre front lip, spitter, roll bars, wings, and diffuser
• Redesigned front brakes and bigger rear discs with the ABS-Evo system 
• Reworked exhaust system to produce a “fuller, richer sound”

• Lightest carbon fibre racing seats ever fitted to a Ferrari, leading to a 10 kg weight reduction
• Race-specific fabric with carbon fibre for the door panels, tunnel and mats for weight reduction

Pricing for the SF90 XX Stradale starts from €770,000 (approx RM 3,914,304), which rises to €850,000 (approx RM 4,320,985) for the Spider version.
