Ford launches the much awaited Ranger Raptor at the KLIMS 2018

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Ford Ranger Raptor is one of the most anticipated vehicles of the year. Ford started teasing this mighty off-road pickup truck a few months ago, and then it was up and live on its website. But there was no sign as to when Ford is going to bring us the Ranger Raptor. Today, Ford used the KLIMS 2018 platform to launch the Ranger Raptor in Malaysia.

Speaking about the Ranger Raptor launch, Truong Kim Phong, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company, said, “We are thrilled to build on our Ranger success story here in Malaysia with the Ranger Raptor, which combines the Ranger’s renowned ‘Built Ford Tough’ character with Ford Performance DNA to set a new benchmark in off-road capability.”

Powering the new Ford Ranger Raptor is a 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel engine which produces 213 PS of max power and 500 Nm of peak torque. The transmission is Ford’s new 10-speed automatic unit. This gigantic pickup truck also comes with Ford’s 4x4 system and the Terrain Management System which gives the users a choice of six driving modes – Baja, Sport, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Sand, Rock, and Normal. Other features that make the Ranger Raptor a hardcore off-road machine include Position Sensitive Damping (PSD) shock absorbers by Fox, Watt’s linkage rear suspension with coilover rear springs, BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres, Heavy duty side steps, 283 mm ground clearance, 800 mm water wading, etc.

The Ranger Raptor is available in two color options - Lightning Blue and Conquer Grey. Also, there are a few interesting exclusive promotions that have been announced by Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) at the KLIMS 2018 like the first 888 customers who register their new Ford Ranger will each receive an electrical goods voucher worth RM 1,000.

You can have up to 2 years free maintenance or up to 40,000 km if you register the New Ranger including the New Ranger Raptor before 31 January 2019, whichever comes first.
