Get ready for a new auto show, Motor Bella running from Sept 21 to 26
KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, we have a new auto show up the alley, called the Motor Bella. It will be held from September 21 to 26 at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, the center of the Detroit metro area.
However, the highlight here is that the Motor Bella is replacing the much-awaited 2021 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Also known as the Detroit Motor Show, the NAIAS was first postponed to 2021 as its downtown venue was used as a field hospital for COVID patients.
Speaking of venues, the one for Motor Bella - the M1 Concourse is a motorsport club with a private garage facility. Its 148,644 sq meter of area can accommodate the latest technological upgrades, dynamic vehicles, and terrain (ideal for showing off-road capabilities. There's also a 2.4 km long circuit where vehicle and tech demonstration can take place.
Rod Alberts, event executive director said, “The pandemic has caused changes in our society and world in ways not previously imagined, and we all should be looking for new and highly creative ways of doing business. This new event captures that creative spirit, and it will provide new mobility experiences and increasingly innovative approaches to tapping into the industry and its products,”
On the move of replacing 2021 NAIAS with Motor Bells, event chairman Doug North said that the shift was a natural progression, as in COVID times, consumers have a preference for outdoor setup instead of indoor.
