GWM Ora 5 bookings open in Malaysia, Estimated price from RM 115k

KUALA LUMPUR: After a series of previews, GWM Malaysia has finally opened the order books for its newest model, the Ora 5. With the official launch scheduled for November 2026, the Ora 5 is expected to be introduced with an estimated selling price of RM 115,000, offering Malaysians an exciting new hybrid choice in the compact SUV segment.

Powered by GWM’s intelligent hybrid system

The Ora 5 is powered by GWM’s all-new intelligent hybrid system, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 150 PS and 240 Nm with a single electric motor tuned to deliver 190 PS and 236 Nm. The combined system is rated at 223 PS and 476 Nm, enabling the vehicle to hit the century sprint in 7.7 seconds. 

GWM claims that the upcoming HEV will offer a total driving range of over 1,100 km with an impressive fuel efficiency of 4.4 litres per 100 km (22.7 kmpl).

Award-winning design

The Ora 5 is the world’s first production vehicle to win London Design Awards 2025 in the Automotive Product Design category, highlighting the brand’s design excellence on the global stage.

Key design highlights include round headlights inspired by water droplets, wraparound tail lights, petal-style low-drag wheels, ergonomically designed seats tailored to Asian body proportions, and thoughtful storage solutions.

Range of intelligent technologies

Targeting young professionals, couples, and connected urban users, the upcoming Ora 5 is expected to come with a wide range of intelligent technologies, including a 14-6-inch floating infotainment unit, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless smartphone charger, ambient lighting, power-adjustable seats and an extensive suite of active and passive systems.
