GWM Tank 500 gets smarter in Malaysia with enhanced connected features

KUALA LUMPUR: GWM Malaysia has introduced enhanced smartphone connectivity for the Tank 500 HEV, offering customers a greater ownership experience across three key areas: remote vehicle control, vehicle monitoring, and location and alerts. 

GWM Tank 500: Enhanced connected features

Through the GWM Intelligent app, owners can access the following enhanced connected features of the Tank 500 SUV- 

Remote Control

This prepares the SUV’s cabin before a journey or lets you manage selected functions remotely for greater convenience and comfort. Key functions include - 

• Remote Engine Control
• Remote Door Control
• Remote Window & Sunroof Closing
• Remote Climate Control
• Scheduled Climate Control
• Remote Air Purification
• Remote Seat Ventilation

Vehicle monitoring 

This feature checks the vehicle’s condition, readiness, and security through the GWM Intelligent Application, even when away from it. Key functions include - 

• Engine Status
• Driving Range Monitoring
• Fuel Level Monitoring
• Tyre Pressure & Temperature Monitoring
• Mileage Status
• Door Status
• Window & Sunroof Status
• Climate Control Status
• Air Purifier Status
• Seat Ventilation Status

Location & alerts 

This feature locates the vehicle, offers timely notifications and manages authorised access for greater reassurance and peace of mind. Key functions include - 

• Find My Vehicle
• View Vehicle Location
• Geofencing and Vehicle Location Alerts
• Door Open Alert
• Window Open Alert
• Low Fuel Alert
• 12V Battery Alert
• Tyre Pressure & Temperature Alert
• Vehicle Sharing Control
• Remote GPS Location Control

The upgraded GWM Tank 500 HEV is now available at selected GWM dealerships nationwide. 

GWM Malaysia has also announced a nationwide customer campaign from 1 August to 30 September 2026, offering additional rewards and value. Customers who book a brand-new GWM vehicle during the campaign period and complete registration by 30 September 2026 will be eligible to participate, with six lucky customers standing a chance to win up to RM 1,000 worth of toll cashback.
