Here’s a stunning EV concept from Cupra, the UrbanRebel

KUALA LUMPUR: What you see in the picture above is the UrbanRebel Concept that incorporates Cupra’s racing heritage and design DNA. There’s no doubt about its stunning looks, however, the best part is how it is relatable to the car enthusiasts of today and the future.

The Cupra UrbanRebel Concept is a race version of what will be the automaker’s 100% all-electric urban car.

Cupra UrbanRebel Concept details

As per Cupra CEO, Wayne Griffiths, "The Cupra UrbanRebel Concept is a radical interpretation of the company’s urban electric car, due to be launched in 2025. This racing concept gives an idea of the design language of the future street-car and will inspire its creation."

He added, “The urban electric car is a key strategic project not only for our company but also for the Volkswagen Group, as our aim is to produce more than 500,000 urban electric cars per year in Martorell for different Group brands. The urban electric car will democratise and make accessible electromobility to the masses."

What about power and performance? There’s no question about the UrbanRebel’s looks but the thing is it is equally good a performer as well. Along with its 250 kW electric motor that can be turned up to 320 kW, this stunner can complete a century sprint in just 3.2 seconds. In addition, the machine offers 335 bhp of continuous power with a peak output of 429 bph (in certain situations). The production version of the UrbanRebel is likely to be less powerful and like the Cupra Born and ID.3 hatches, it is expected to feature a single electric motor driving the rear axle.

Cupra UrbanRebel Concept features

On the dimension front, the UrbanRebel measures 4,080 mm long, 1,795 mm wide, and 1,444 mm tall. Thus, making the concept somewhat equal in size to the Seat Arona crossover.

  • Window design evoke the visual effect a hamlet
  • Sharp styling lines run through its three-door bodyshell
  • The rear features a full-length rear light bar with the Cupra logo in the middle
  • The large rear wing and rear diffuser give it a distinguishing look and highlight its motosport link

The official launch is scheduled for 2025 and we hope that Cupra doesn’t change the exterior design much.
