Honda S2000 gets new modulo kit
KUALA LUMPUR: The S2000 is all set to return with a custom body-kit and updated interiors amongst other updates at the Tokyo Auto Salon, 2020. The car is being called the S2000 20th Anniversary Prototype.
The Honda S2000 marked the 50th Anniversary of the company at the time of its launch in 2000. The vehicle commemorated as a gift of the automaker to itself was highly celebrated for its 2.0-litre Vtec engine and rear-wheel drive finesse. The car featured an open-top and was made to be a two-seater under the sports variant.
Honda anniversary prototype has been renovated with the help of Modulo. The two-door roadster which was discontinued, ten-years after its debut will be featuring a plethora of updates at the upcoming motor show.
The prototype will be an AP1 version of the S2000 and will be very different from the factory stock. The prototype gets a unique front bumper along with a pair of side skirts that adds to the aerodynamical look of the car and the stock wheels have been replaced with 17-inch Yokohama Advan RZ2 alloy wheels.
Additionally, the car gets a duckbill spoiler at the back along with a Grand Prix White paintwork and the interior of the car features red bucket sport seats along with black-painted side mirror caps and windshield frame.
The vehicle is powered by the similar 2.0-litre F20C V-TEC Engine. No changes have been made to the total output of the car as it still delivers maximum power of 246hp and generates peak torque of up to 218Nm. The four-cylinder engine comes mated with a six-speed manual gearbox.
Apart from the S2000, Honda will also showcase the EK9 Civic Type R, called the Civic Cyber Night Japan Cruiser (CNJ) 2020, which represents the company’s take on a what a futuristic EK9 would look like.
