2026 Proton S70 revealed, launching on Feb 11

KUALA LUMPUR: Introduced in 2023, the Proton S70 is one of the best-selling C-segment sedans in Malaysia, thanks to its great combination of style, comfort, and value. Well, Proton has now come up with the upgraded version of this sporty sedan, offering more responsive performance, improved fuel efficiency, and enhanced safety technologies.

The bookings for the all-new Proton S70 are set to commence on February 7, 2026, with the official launch scheduled for February 11, 2006. 

2026 Proton S70: What’s new?

Guided by the philosophy “Intelligence that Evolves”, the upgraded Proton S70 features comprehensive upgrades in both performance and styling, promising a more confident and comfortable driving experience. Key upgrades include - 

New engine: The sedan gets a new 1.5-litre turbocharged i-GT 1.5-litre engine, replacing the older old port-injected unit, which produces a maximum power of 181 PS and a peak torque of 290 Nm. It represents a considerable jump of 31 PS and 64 Nm. The updated powertrain is mated to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission that delivers stronger acceleration, reaching 0-100 kmph in 7.5 seconds, while maintaining impressive fuel efficiency of 5.7 litres per 100 km  (19.6 kmpl). 

Cosmetic tweaks: The new S70 benefits slightly tweaked LED headlamps and daytime running lights,  new 17-inch alloy wheels, and an updated aerokit, comprising air-intake accents, red highlights, and a more aggressive diffuser-style rear skirt. The cabin features a sleek black interior with refined finishes, reinforcing its modern, performance-oriented character.

Better connectivity: The upgraded sedan is equipped with a 12.3-inch  infotainment unit, which now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It is also mated to an Intelligent voice interaction and enhanced in-car connectivity features, offering improved convenience, accessibility, and driver interaction throughout every journey. 

Better safety: The 2026 PROTON S70 is equipped with 13 Level 2 Advanced  Driver Assistance Systems features, including Autonomous Emergency  Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, enhancing awareness, driving confidence, and peace of mind. 

Interested individuals can book the all-new 2026 Proton S70, with a booking fee of RM500, at authorised Proton 3S/4S showrooms nationwide.
