KUALA LUMPUR: The Proton e.MAS 5 took the local automotive market by storm, following its debut in October last year, grabbing 1,607 bookings within 24 hours and 3,000 within the first week. Pro-Net has begun delivering the first batch of EVs, with a phased rollout plan continuing into Q1 2026.

The brand’s EVs (e.MAS 5 and e.MAS 7) together accounted for approximately 6% of Proton’s total annual sales and enabled the national automaker to capture 22% share of Malaysia’s EV market.

- Dubbed as Malaysia’s First Affordable EV, the Proton e.MAS 5 is designed to bring electrified mobility within reach of everyday Malaysians.
- It is offered in two variants - Prime and Premium, priced at RM 59,800 and RM 72,800, respectively.
- The entry-level Prime variant is powered by a 79 PS/130 Nm RWD motor and a 30.12 kWh CATL LFP battery pack, offering a range of 225 km.
