Honda Vezel gets a new Modulo X variant in Japan

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Japan has launched a new variant of Vezel, which is the Japanese version of HR-V. Called Modulo X, this new variant comes in two configurations - Touring and Hybrid. The Hybrid trim can be availed in front-wheel-drive as well as all-wheel-drive option.

The Hybrid version of the Modulo X uses a Sport Hybrid intelligent dual-clutch drive (i-DCD) powertrain system with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine accompanied with a seven-speed gearbox. It generates a peak power of 130hp and torque of up to 156nm. The Touring variant, on the other hand, comes with a 1.5litre VTEC four-cylinder engine generating a peak power of around 170hp and torque of up to 220nm.

Modulo X gets an upgrade on the springs and dampeners for suspension. The all-wheel-drive variant gets 17-inch wheels whereas the front-wheel-drive variant sports 18-inch units. The vehicle, on the inside, sports a stunning black theme where the seats are cushioned with side-rests crafted with leather. The option of sport seats is also available for the buyers.

The outside of the Vezel Modulo X comes with LED fog lamps accompanied by a dedicated front grille and sports dual exhaust. Buyers get four unique colour options, which include Crystal Black Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Premium Crystal Red Metallic and Premium Crystal Blue Metallic.

The updated variants of the Vezel are priced between 3,528,800 Yen (RM 135,058) and 3,617,900 Yen (RM 138,468). The Platinum White Pearl colour option comes with an additional cost of 38,500 Yen (RM 1,474) whereas, the Crystal Blue Metallic and Premium Crystal Red Metallic colours come at an additional cost of 60,500 Yen (RM 2,316).
