KUALA LUMPUR: Proton has recently launched the heavily upgraded version of the beloved X50, which has been selling like hot cakes. Within just 5 days of the official launch, a total of 999 customers have taken their new X50 home.

The new X50 comes with an all-new full HD 14.6-inch infotainment unit (largest in the segment), which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and advanced voice assistant functionality. To offer an enhanced in-cabin experience, Proton has equipped the X50 with a sophisticated 72-colour rhythmic ambient light, seamlessly integrated on the door pulls and the distinctive looping light band on the front passenger side.

The system contains 72 different colour options that can be customised as per your preferences to elevate the mood and add a lively vibe to your driving experience. The Honda HR-V, on the other hand, does not come with this vibrant lighting effect.

Adaptive drive mode

The Proton X50 is equipped with three standard drive modes - Comfort, Normal, and Sport, along with a standout mode - Adaptive. This intelligent mode can automatically adjust the vehicle’s settings as per the driving behaviour, road conditions, and performance needs, and thus makes every drive smoother and more responsive. On the contrary, the HR-V features the Eco, Normal and Sport modes.

The new X50 also boasts a more comprehensive advanced driver-assistance suite with advanced features such as -
