Is the Ford Mustang Mach-E EV on sale in Malaysia?

KUALA LUMPUR: It seems like the Ford Mustang Mach-E EV has landed on Malaysian shores and interested customers can make an offer!

The word ‘seems’ and the ‘question mark’ must be causing a lot of confusion in your minds. Well, the reason for doing so is that the car hasn’t entered the market via official channels but a selling platform (under the Facebook name Raja Shah Redza) is seen promoting the Ford EV. What seems like a Malaysian showroom floor in the image, the car EV can be seen in two colour options - Grey and Maroon.

Nothing about the price or available variant option for the local spec-Mustang Mach-E has been made clear. In the international market, however, the car is available in a few configurations, so what we will get is still not clear.

Here are a few details about Ford Mustang Mach-E EV -

• In its all-electric form, the Mustang showcases a SUV body-type
• On the outside, it features a long, powerful hood, aggressive headlights, rear haunch design, and trademaker tri-bar tail lamps
• It is offered with two battery options - standard (75.7 kWh) and extended (98.8 kWh), with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive setup
• The EV is powered by permanent magnet motors, offering a range of at least 482 km
• The Mach-E extended-range all-wheel drive puts out 332 hp and 565 Nm
• The EV gets a 15.5-inch portrait infotainment display with simple interface
• The ‘Phone As A Key’ technology has made its debut in the EV
• The car is built on a new all-electric architecture which allows the batteries to placed inside the underbody

Overall, the car not only holds true to the Mustang nameplate but also offers the spaciousness of a SUV (enough room for five passengers & cargo).
