Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland creates a world record for the largest convoy parade
KUALA LUMPUR: Here is another record that's been created. How many Land Rover vehicles have you seen in a convoy? 10? Or maybe 20? Looks like Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland has done something that is far away from anyone's imagination. The brand has trailed a convoy of over 600 cars.

The exact number of cars in the convoy, as documented in the Guinness Book of World Records is 632. Out of which, around 80% were the Land Rover Defenders. This successful attempt of registering in the world record book was made to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Land Rover, the first car was unveiled back in April 1948.
This convoy parade by Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland took place in Bad Kissingen in Bavaria, Germany. This staggering number was achieved thanks to the brand's enthusiasts from all over Europe who came together to be a part of the world’s largest vehicle exhibition. A few of the enthusiasts come all the way from Siberia.

However, there were some things that the Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland had to make sure of in order to be qualified for the record. The participants were required to travel a 7.4-kilometre track that is located along the farmland in the area. And while doing so, they needed to maintain a minimum distance of two cars from the vehicle in front.

In order to make sure that this minimum distance was maintained, stewards were positioned at intervals of one kilometre. The vehicle that failed to maintain this gap were not included in the total count.
The entire attempt by Jaguar Land Rover Deutschland lasted for less than an hour. After this was done, the adjudicator of Guinness Book of World Records, Sofia Greenacre, along with two witnesses, got the total count, followed by verification and then the company was tagged as the new record holder.
