LEPAS moves one step closer to Malaysian launch, signs agreement with 20 dealers

KUALA LUMPUR: Back in January, LEPAS announced its big plans for Malaysia, aiming to establish 30 outlets by the end of 2026. Well, the upcoming brand has now moved one step closer to its official entry into the local market by signing distribution agreements with 20 key partners in Malaysia.

    “By working as one unified front, Lepas is establishing a standardised network system that promises immersive product experience, seamless sales and delivery and after-sales care. Lepas is committed to bringing the elegant mobility lifestyle to consumers across Malaysia,” she added.

    Lepas Malaysia’s network expansion strategy

    Lepas Malaysia is set to establish 20 sales and service outlets in the country, strategically located across key states in Peninsular and East Malaysia (including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang,  Johor, Sarawak, Sabah). By the end of 2026, the automaker aims to have 30 strategic touchpoints in Malaysia.

    The brand will also open a signature Lifestyle Experience Center in the Klang Valley, allowing Malaysians to explore their appealing mobility solutions through curated lifestyle zones and learn about LEPAS Elegant Technology.

    Upcoming Lepas cars in Malaysia

    Backed by Chery Group’s world-class R&D and engineering, Lepas’ global lineup includes three models - L8, L6, and L4. All these SUVs are built on the Chery NEV (New Energy Vehicle) platform, designed to support multiple powertrain options and accommodate diverse sizes.

    Here, in Malaysia, the L8 and L6 SUVs are expected to spearhead the brand’s entry, followed by the L4 thereafter. Here’s a quick overview -

    • Lepas L8: It is a D-segment family-oriented flagship SUV, powered by a Super Hybrid system that promises to offer energy efficiency and a combined range of over 1,300 km.
    • Lepas L6: It is a C-segment SUV that focuses more on comfort, style, and technology, targeting urban professionals and families. It was recently previewed at the Auto China 2026 event in both EV and PHEV forms, along with the L4 EV.
